The Wates Group is one of the largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies in the UK. We’ve worked with the business for some time, so we know the brand inside out and were perfectly placed to produce their annual review, as well as plenty of supporting documents, when asked.
In response to a simple brief, our team of designers created something that went far beyond the ordinary. We built on all Wates’ must-haves, incorporated brand fonts and imagery, then took the style of these assets in a direction that felt fresh. This report was a place to show off the very best Wates has to offer, so we used clever design to not only invite readers to learn more about the business, but to champion its ambition, its people-centric approach and the positive journey it was headed on.
Wates had a lot to say in its annual report, but we knew from experience that even the most interested readers won’t pay attention for 50 pages of text alone. So we got creative with layouts, incorporating loads of impactful imagery, bold text treatments and even infographics to break up the content and make it super easy to digest.
The annual report was a massive hit with Wates and was ultimately shared in both print and digital formats with a swathe of clients, as well as internal audiences. Some of the supporting documents we produced, including dynamic credential brochures, went on to be hosted on the Wates website. There they made the large business easier to understand from the outside, providing valuable information for clients old and new.
