CyNam (Cyber Cheltenham) is a platform of over 900 members made up of the best cyber technology minds from local SMEs and start-ups with the aim to support people, offer expertise, guidance, funding, and new business.
For the first time in their five-year history, they hosted CyNam 20.2 virtually. DRPG delivered this virtual event as a broadcast, live from our headquarters in Hartlebury, with CyNam presenting from the studio, joined by a host of remote presenters from around the UK.
Ensuring the same essential elements of the CyNam live events were factored in, we included virtual networking sessions that were hosted or facilitated by event sponsors or key members of the cyber community. Delegates were able to opt in to attend these sessions before the event. Event sponsors were also awarded packages that gave them various opportunities around the virtual platform and event.
The event began with panel discussion on innovation, provided by Saj Huq, Programme Director at LORCA with fellow panellists’ Dr Godfrey Gaston, Executive Director of CSIT and Co-Founder of Global Epic and Stephen Wray – Director and Cyber Lead at Deloitte UK.
Following the panel discussion, there were further live talks that included topics covering data and ethics with further guest speakers from the cyber community, a Cyber Showcase panel featuring case studies from the latest tech start-ups, and the jam-packed event concluded with a live Q&A panel, which covered a host of hot topics including: trust by design, understanding and knowing your mission as cyber security company, and culture.
With 1,400 delegates registering for the event and an attendance of over 800 on the day, the virtual event was a resounding success. The audience was from much further afield than just Cheltenham with members joining not only from across the UK, but as far afield as Australia!
