Video Production Assistant

Reporting to:
Technical Manager - Video


To support all parts of DRPG video in the day-to-day film production process, and other team related requirements, on site and on location.

Principle duties

  • Supporting location crew prior to and on shoots.
  • Ingest materials for the post-production process and capture pictures and sound for editing.
  • Learn to record and edit audiovisual material.
  • Support archivist in Master tracking and obtaining / retrieving archive material.
  • Monitor and maintain production and post production equipment / environments – including assisting with maintenance tasks.
  • Checking the up-keep and maintenance of the video vehicles – (working with the production staff and drpg’s H&S Manager on keeping the maintenance logs and servicing up to date).
  • To promote and comply with drpg’s policy on equal opportunities both in delivery of services and treatment of others.

  • Personal experience of and a strong interest in films / film making and photography desirable.



  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Be organised with a good eye for detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Be punctual and willing to work outside normal office hours when required.
  • Must be computer literate.



  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop existing ones.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as part of a wider team.
  • Must be committed to making ‘anything possible’ with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Quick to understand a brief and requirements.
  • Positive attitude towards challenging situations and multi-tasking.

  • A true love of ‘film’.

Other requirements

  • Able to travel throughout the UK and overseas.
  • Driving licence.

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office. There will be times when this role will require you to work from the company’s other offices. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
