Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, professional individual to join a dynamic team as Live Event Venue Co-Ordinator. This is a great opening for someone to increase their knowledge in the events industry.

Principle duties

  • Venue-finding throughout the UK and worldwide
  • Keep updated on venue and product knowledge through visiting venues and related exhibitions
  • Negotiating with suppliers on very best rates and added value deals
  • Preparing venue information documents including accurate costing estimates
  • Be a supplier liaison
  • To carry out any reasonable request by the department Director and Manager
  • To report to Clients/Project Managers /Directors as required

Experience

  • Good venue knowledge in the UK
  • Experience of sourcing meeting venues, ideally for the pharmaceutical industry

Skills / characteristics

  • Good keyboard and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • The ability to work with figures in order to issue accurate quotations
  • Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently and to ‘think outside the box’
  • Tenacious attitude to attaining customer requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
  • Good venue knowledge in the UK
  • A knowledge of event organising and operations (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of hotel operations (Desirable)
  • An interest or knowledge of the events industry (Desirable)
  • Languages (Desirable)

Other requirements

  • Able to travel throughout the UK
  • Driving licence

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office and will require regular travel to other office locations. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
