Purpose

Sitting on the Leadership team of Digital, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the testing discipline is at industry standard throughout the department and constantly drive to better the service offered.

Working with the leaders of the delivery teams you’ll ensure all test team members are delivering to the requirements and standards you’ve set for the department. You’ll work closely with the digital leadership team to update, develop and implement new innovations, processes and procedures within the testing discipline and apply these into delivery teams with the support of Lead and Senior Test Analysts.

You’ll use your technical knowledge and expertise in testing to coach and mentor other testers to warrant that they are delivering to the objectives you set for the discipline.

 

Overall, working closely with the Digital Senior Leadership team, you’ll make certain that the department is constantly striving for success and will continually evaluate the testing offering to establish greater return for the team and DRPG.

Principle duties

  • Taking the lead on the testing discipline within the department
  • Oversee the testing estimation process and provide project and task estimates with the support of the wider Testing Team
  • Ensuring all processes and documents are constantly being reviewed and updated
  • Ensuring the testing team are constantly progressing and innovating by analysing industry standards
  • Rolling out new ideas across the team to improve efficiency and quality
  • Attending client meetings, pitches and industry engagements
  • Taking on duties given by the Digital SLT in the running of the department
  • Engaging with external suppliers with support from the Operation Lead
  • Keeping up to date and driving new and emerging trends for testing to secure continuous innovation

Skills

  • Unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing
  • Testing estimation
  • Planning and designing test scripts for manual execution
  • Implementing non-functional testing strategies across complex projects
  • Software Development Lifecycle ‘SDLC’ and Software Testing Lifecycle ‘STLC’
  • Testing various CMS platforms, B2B websites, B2C websites and mobile apps
  • Strong communication skills, and able to hold your own
  • Coaching, mentoring and delivering training to Test Analysts
  • Prioritising tasks and managing your own time
  • Generating ideas and thinking outside the box

Other requirements

  • Able to travel throughout the UK and overseas
  • Full, clean drivers’ licence

Further notes

The role will be based from our Hartlebury or Manchester office with flexible working. We will also consider a fully remote option. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
