Senior Insight and Planning Manager

Purpose

Joining us as a Senior Insight and Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for the forward planning of brand-building strategies at DRPG. You’ll work on creative, media and research briefs with the account and creative teams to ensure the best possible marketing solutions for a broad range of clients. You’ll lead the team, ensuring best practice, innovation and solid research underpin all of DRPG’s client responses.

Principle duties

You’ll work mainly with the campaign team but will support other areas of the business to:

  • Develop consumer behaviour insight and trends
  • Analyse the role and impact of various touch points and channels on client’s business and marketing strategies
  • Synthesise and analyse, write & present key findings with clarity to develop insights and recommendations to drive marketing strategy
  • Deliver planning at both implementation and strategic levels
  • Ignite the generation of creative ideas
  • Support content and channel strategy
  • Interpret research findings and generate consumer insight that enables creative communication solutions
  • Participate in thought leadership initiatives discussion with partners and clients
  • Lead and deliver focus groups, workshops and hackathon style activity
  • Provide on-going updates to the team of industry trends, issues, and best practices for relevant categories
  • Monitor research and insights production schedules, budget, and costs (where incurred)
  • Review insight work to proof clarity of meaning as well as compliance with codes and regulations, and original client briefs
  • Maintain optimally efficient inventory of tools used (i.e Brandwatch string availability, online subscriptions and relevant insight events the team should or could attend)
  • Manage, train and mentor a team of researchers with aplomb
  • Plan team resource in line with account management, client deadlines and wider team needs
  • Help the head of campaign with best practice for research, insight and planning, developing the function both internally and externally

Experience

  • Tons of similar experience, ideally within an agency environment or marketing company
  • The Ability to independently source supporting data and research
  • A proven research background and detail orientated analytical skills
  • A broad spectrum understanding of technical and legal matters (in reference to communication and marketing in particular)
  • The ability to work across a broad range of client categories and a swathe of very different consumer groups
  • Extensive and practical marcomms knowledge; B2B and B2C, internal and external
  • An awareness of how different channels fit within the communications landscape
  • Experience in mobile marketing, social CRM,E-commence, search engine is preferred
  • The ability to work across a broad range of client categories and a swathe of very different consumer groups

Other requirements

  • Full, clean drivers’ licence

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office and will require regular travel to other office locations. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
