Lead Creative Environmental Designer

Purpose

To lead on the design costing and specification of stage sets, exhibition builds and experiential environment client solutions.

Principle duties

  • Taking, evaluating, and responding to client briefs.
  • Lead in the development of deliverable creative ideas and concepts in collaboration with the Creative Services team.
  • Developing and advising on build solutions in collaboration with the various production teams, through to final site delivery
  • Detailed design and build specifications with a complete understanding of build materials and budgeting constraints.
  • Producing cost estimations/guides for solution development and client responses.
  • Producing detailed concepts and drawings for production teams and for presenting back to clients.
  • Directing 3D modelling and the direction of photo realistic rendering of visuals of stage sets, experiential environments and exhibition stands.
  • Contributing to client proposals including written descriptions and explanations.
  • Pitch solutions to client panels.
  • Directing the end-to-end build design and visualisation process of each project.
  • Ensuring designs and visuals adhere to client brand guidelines at all times.
  • Manage database of related stock imagery and visuals for reference and future project use.
  • Design within current Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Experience

  • Formal design education preferred
  • Previous experience designing stage sets, experiential events and exhibitions
  • The ideal candidate will have already gained a strong grounding within an agency environment where they designed for live and experiential events

Skills

  • Good understanding of event planning and spatial layout practices
  • Good understanding of the concept of lighting design of live environments
  • Good understanding and interpretation of technical drawings and detailed specifications
  • Experienced user 3DS Max, Vectorworks, AutoCAD LT and Sketchup
  • Proficient user of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop)
  • Illustration/sketching ability an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently to drive the design direction of our solution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Good organisational skills and provide an adaptable approach to work
  • Excellent design, interest in current trends and an eye for detail
  • Ability to brief and oversee other visualisers when necessary

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office. There will be times when this role will require you to work from the company’s other offices or attend offsite meetings. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
