Head of Learning and Development

Purpose

Lead the innovative creation, delivery, evaluation and evolution of a learning culture across drpg. Nurture the learning & development of every individual possibler across the entire organization providing best in industry solutions to support business growth, people pipelines and inspire and engage all possiblers.

Principle duties

  • Create a learning culture and L&D strategy for the drpg.
  • Be the face of L&D for all requests, guidance and support for learning and development across every area of the business.
  • Engage, inspire and coach possiblers around you at all times.
  • Role model the drpg values.
  • Develop the drpg academy brand to become recognised and synonymous with fun, development, growth, learning and progression.
  • Continually develop the L&D offer to be suitable for drpg and every possibler.
  • Create and share clear L&D plans and work with the board and the business on career guides.
  • Create L&D interventions, across all mediums, suited to business needs. Deliver or facilitate engaging, inspiring and impactful training sessions. Use internal and external experience where appropriate.
  • Provide regular ROI and assess and evaluate L&D offer.
  • Increase engagement, skills and personal development and career progression. Measure success using metrics, data and Engage Survey tool.
  • Manage the L&D budget and departmental L&D pots to ensure maximum value, keep costs under control, make required savings and regularly review offer, supplier costs and requirements.
  • Work closely with the Board to develop skills and make recommendations to drive L&D across the business. Support the Board with advice, guidance and solutions to business requirements.
  • Work directly with the CEO to create Board Development plans and solutions.
  • Work closely with CEO to agree and activate the L&D plan.
  • Manage and develop relationships with external training providers.
  • Own and develop the drpg Apprenticeship programme, content, recruitment, suppliers and ongoing development and careers of drpg apprentices.
  • Work with HR to create, deliver and evolve drpg onboarding and induction processes with the single aim being a WOW welcome and integration to drpg for all new hires.
  • Work with HR to develop best in class Onboarding into drpg.
  • Work with HR to roll out talent management, appraisals and performance management solutions that fit drpg.
  • Develop members of the leadership team to deliver effective learning and development sessions.
  • Own and develop the drpg academy portal to create a home for L&D that is simple, effective and provides easy access to all, with training logs and a ‘one stop shop’ for L&D
  • Integrate the drpg values into all materials and content.
  • Create valued sustainable and rewarding relationships within every area of the business
  • Work with local education and create partnerships to drive people pipelines, CSR and PR and L&D activities.
  • Own, develop, integrate and deliver 5 Voices in all its formats across the business. Become licensed and make best use of available content and applications.
  • Consistently review all training programmes to ensure they are suitable and effective and measure the effectiveness of all learning and development both short and long-term
  • Ensure any job specific training linked to licences and required qualifications are up to date and maintained.
  • Work with clients on a required basis to develop creative ‘off the shelf’ training solutions that drpg can offer.
  • Work closely with clients and project teams in developing learning and development sessions specific to client projects and requests
  • Add value and interaction with any other relevant department with links to L&D and Creative Content.
  • Source and deploy an eLearning platform for drpg and launch, engage and drive ongoing valued usage and implementation.

Experience

  • Experience of leading learning and development for a business is essential
  • Experience of designing, developing and implementing learning and development solutions with evidence of effectiveness
  • Preferable to have experience in / or a good understanding of our industry
  • Good understanding of performance development

Other requirements

  • Full, clean drivers’ licence
  • Train the Trainer Qualification

Data Security

At all times you must work within the guidelines set out in the DRPG’s Information Security Policy and your Employee Confidentiality Agreement. Failure to do so may be treated as gross misconduct.

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Worcestershire head office. There will be times when this rolewill require you to work from the company’s other offices. You will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.At all times you must work within the guidelines set out in drpg’s Health & Safety Policy and Employee Manual.
