The Creative Producer, Events in our new Cologne base will play a key role in the international expansion of our business. With a clear focus on the support and management of our events and conference services in the DACH region the role will be pivotal in introducing and establishing our brand in Germany and the other DACH nations. The main responsibility is to understand, develop and direct each project right from the initial concept through to final delivery. With an overall vision and view of the project, the Creative Producer sees everything from an aerial viewpoint, identifying any gaps and making recommendations for improvement, directing project teams accordingly. The onsite role varies depending on the client or project and could mean anything from producing the main room or retaining an overall directional role.

Principle duties

  • Interpret a client brief and be responsible for providing creative solutions and responses
  • Help to develop project strategy, team engagement activities, creative, overall objectives and desired outcomes
  • Develop and produce written, creative proposals that will inspire the client and showcase our capabilities, creative services and operational excellence
  • A good understanding of the overall vision of any project, providing a holistic view internally and externally
  • Executing the creative vision for each project and brief and direct all production teams
  • Providing clear direction in the development and delivery of all stages of the project by clearly interpreting the project needs and creative requirements
  • Hands on delivery at all stages of the event lifecycle
  • Oversee all production and act as the main point of internal sign off
  • Understand the implications of change and what it will mean internally and externally to the project delivery
  • Development and management of content
  • Client management and development through listening, interpreting and delivering in a manner that always has them at the heart and builds trust and close relationships
  • Leading teams to confidently deliver the project, encouraging contribution and responsibility
  • Enabling close co-operation and effective communication with other internal stakeholders at DRPG, especially between Cologne and HQ in England
  • Co-ordination of internal and where necessary commissioning of external deliverables
  • Close co-operation with DRPG’s Director of Events to ensure a swift, smooth expansion of our services in Cologne
  • Recognising opportunities to upsell other DRPG services
  • Joining up the key functions of event experience, customer satisfaction and future sales
  • Budgeting and financial negotiations with clients
  • Contract management, including drafting, negotiations and implementation
  • Close co-operation with DRPG’s Global Development Director to help establish our brand in the DACH region
  • CPD – keep up to date with new and emerging trends/best practice, ensuring continuous innovation.

  • At least 4 years’ experience in event management and/or communications in a similar position
  • A good understanding of the various disciplines, such as event management, technical event support, digital media, video, design, print
  • Extensive experience in event content development and management
  • Solid understanding of internal communications
  • Fundamental editorial capabilities (good, written German and English)
  • Solid knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Intercultural competency an advantage

  • Strong presentation skills in order to support live pitches as required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in order to manage internal departments, external resources and their responses
  • Commercial awareness for budget creation and management
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to estimate project time accurately
  • Service orientated, always aiming for the best results
  • Analytical, with an ability to interpret information and explain thought processes
  • Positive attitude towards challenging situations and multi-tasking
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop existing ones
  • Preparedness to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Degree level qualification or apprenticeship in e.g. economics, marketing, events

Other requirements

  • General preparedness to travel
  • Full driving license

Further notes

The role will be based primarily in our Cologne office and will require regular travel to other office locations. Flexible working hours and locations are offered by the Company, however as this is a new role for the group, flexibility will be limited until the role is embedded and stabilised. You will be expected to undertake other related commercial duties both in Germany and overseas as the company may from time to time reasonably require.
