DRPG WIN SILVER AT CANNES CORPORATE MEDIA & TV AWARDS

Celebrating the best in global corporate film making, DRPG are proud to have won silver in the ‘Fundraising, Non-profit, CSR’ category of the Cannes Media & TV Awards 2019 for the film ‘Shedding’ on behalf of Alopecia UK.

‘Shedding’ shares the stories of three people from across the UK living with Alopecia Areata; a condition causing loss of hair. Alopecia affects people of all ages, race and gender and can have a detrimental effect on self-esteem and confidence. The condition often presents itself with little or no warning. Currently there is no known cure. The film was designed to help enhance the charity’s reach and generate more public awareness around a widely misunderstood medical condition, especially during September: Alopecia Awareness Month, and to highlight the psychological impact that living with a visible condition can have on individuals.

DRPG Director and Scriptwriter Dominic Allen actively approached Alopecia UK with the idea for the film, inspired by a close friend who has alopecia. The video was produced voluntarily as part of DRPG’s commitment to corporate responsibility.

The film is not only an informative piece of media, it’s been an inspirational and motivating journey for those that have watched and shared it.

Dominic comments "The response to Shedding has been phenomenal. What started out as a passion project has since helped Alopecia UK reach out to a wide global audience. The film is not only an informative piece of media, it’s been an inspirational and motivating journey for those that have watched and shared it, which is testimony to the people who participated in the filming. We’re really proud of the film and its achievements to date."
