drpvideo Win Best Use of Video at Corpcomms Awards

drpvideo went home with the prestigious best use of video award at the CorpComms awards at the Troxy on the 24th November. ‘This is our love’ created by drpvideo for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club was based on the poem of the same name composed by season ticket holder Steven Power, describing the highs and lows he has experienced as a fan watching Wolverhampton Wanderers from the Jack Harris stand.

The tenth annual CorpComms awards are open to all in-house communication departments and the individuals who work within them and agencies who have worked closely on the campaigns.

Filmed over two days the video features power narrating to the camera along with footage of match day celebrations and past and current players. The video premiered at the club’s end of season dinner and was thereafter used for marketing purposes. It has been viewed over 19,000 times on their YouTube channel and was also picked up by local news outlets in the Midlands and widely shared across social media.

The hugely popular video is still being distributed by Wolves fans and the phrase ‘This is our love’ has been made into a permanent banner in the Molineux stadium. Director of drpvideo Dagmar Mackett commented “It was our task to do this passionate poem by Steven Power justice and make sure the film was equally powerful. And it was. It just goes to show that it doesn’t always take big productions and big budgets to produce something quite exceptional. And the whole team is absolutely over the moon that this has been recognised by CorpComms.”
