Dale Climbs Event 100 Club
The drpgroup’s managing director Dale Parmenter has risen to 5th in the annual Event 100 Club list, curated by Event Magazine. The list charts the 100 most influential people in the event industry from the past year and is voted for by the magazine and a host of industry luminaries working in the field today. More than 6,500 votes were cast for around 120 nominees to create the final list. The results were announced at the magazine’s annual Christmas celebration, held this year at Battersea Evolution.
Dale saw himself climb the list impressively after a record year for the drpgroup. In 2012 Dale finished 32nd, his highest ever placing but due to the group’s expansion throughout 2013 and his assuming the role of Eventia Chairman, Dale broke into the top 5 for the first time. Dale has been at the forefront of training and development as well as lobbying for a more recognised voice for the industry in Government. Dale has overseen the merging of the IVCA and Eventia, creating the largest communications association operating in the UK today. Dale has also championed sustainability throughout the year, launching the SAVE programme in conjunction with the Eco Events consultancy. Dale has also continued to support the industry’s charitable endeavours with the drpgroup maintaining its sponsorship of leisure and hospitality charity Springboard UK as well as Meetings Industry Meeting needs.
Dale commented on his new position in the Event 100 Club, “it’s great to be recognised by my industry peers with such a high position on this list and it’s a real honour to be named amongst such deserving individuals. 2013 has been a transformative year, for the drpgroup and our industry associations. It has been both a challenge and a pleasure to lead the company to the most successful year in our history and also to help create a new voice for the communications industry through the Eventia- IVCA merger. My sincere thanks go to both Event magazine and for all of our clients, suppliers and friends who felt I was worthy of their vote. I, along with all my peers on the list will continue to champion the growth and development of our industry for the benefit of our clients and the UK economy.”
