How you make it all possible…

• Developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure PHP-based applications, modules, and systems
• Collaborating with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications
• Guiding the teams technically and helping them to design solutions that work well
• Designing and implementing efficient and reusable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to less-experienced developers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team• Participating in the planning, estimation, and prioritisation of development tasks
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other potential issues within applications
• Staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the PHP and web development communities, and evaluating their potential impact on our projects
• Collaborating with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and continuous integration processes

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other such duties as the management may, from time to time, reasonably require.

What’s in your toolbox…

• Heaps of knowledge when it comes to secure design and standards
• Detailed knowledge of PHP 7 and 8
• Plenty of experience with Laravel, though we’re not bothered if you’ve got more experience with other PHP frameworks
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills that can turn even the most complex technical jargon into plain English
• Spot on knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns and best practices
• Understanding of a whole load of tech stuff, including: Git/version control and CI; MySql, RDBMB and NoSql persistence stores; HTTP and web services; automated testing and TDD
• Bags of positivity (even under pressure)
• An attitude that’s not so much ‘can do’, but ‘let’s do this together’

The role will operate on a hybrid basis, with a mix of remote work and work in either our Hartlebury, London or Manchester offices. There will be times when you’ll need to work from our other offices and and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas. Flexibility is key! We’re a friendly team.
